    These are the resources from all the workshops, as well as other general resources that workshop participants and others may be interested in.

      These are the slides from the presentation "Introducing the Data Tree Course", presented at the Face to Face workshops.

    • Data Management Q&A File
      This document contains a lot of important and challenging questions relating to research data management. At the workshops, we get participants to ask themselves a small selection of these questions about their own research work, and discuss their responses. 

      This document contains the questions you saw at the workshop, and a whole lot more. It also contains responses to each question, written by Robert Darby - Research Data Manager at the University of Reading. These responses aren't exhaustive answers - many of these questions don't have simple answers and will depend very heavily on the context of the work you do.

      Hopefully this document will help you think about how to answer these questions for your own work, and help highlight which are the most important issues for you to consider when working with your data.

      In these slides, Dr Maria Noguer introduces some key ideas about why and how researchers engage with the policy processes. 

      This includes a discussion on who these policy makers actually are, how decisions are made in the policy process, and what researchers can do at different stages to add value and get their research recognised and understood as useful evidence.

      Here, Ruth Larbey discusses how her organisation "Science for Environmental Policy" engages with policy making at the EU level by taking published scientific papers and producing short policy briefs - infographics, brochures, short publications - that make academic research more accessible to policy makers.
