    This topic provides an overview of the different types of value that research data might pose to businesses, gives an idea of the different types and sizes of organisations that researchers might work with, and helps to familiarise researchers with common accounting terms they might encounter.

    • Topic 2: Working with Businesses

      The following section will enable participants to have an understanding of common structures and operations of business as well as build awareness of business needs and sensitivities in collaborative working endeavours. There’s a tutorial on how to use the 9 Cs model for stakeholder mapping and an exercise to help you develop your stakeholder engagement opener.

      • Topic 3: Engaging with Industry Throughout the Research Project Lifecycle

        In this topic you will be taken through a variety of tried and tested mechanisms for transferring and exchanging knowledge with businesses, how to plan, structure and write a report for business audiences effectively and top tips for engaging with industry throughout the research project life-cycle.

        At the end of this topic, you will be able to:

        • List mechanisms for making research discoverable
        • Explain how to engage with industry through different parts of the research project lifecycle
        • Break down how to write effective reports for business audiences
